I was first exposed to Brainspotting during my own personal process. I tried different approaches but no matter how much insight I gained or actions I took, the issues I was dealing with wouldn’t go away. After experiencing Brainspotting firsthand and seeing how effective it could be, I decided to get trained in the technique, and use it as the primary tool in my own practice. Although I have worked side by side with mental health professionals, I am not a therapist. I see myself as a practiced facilitator who strives to create a space for my clients to heal. I serve the Grand Junction, CO area through my office in Fruita and also offer sessions online wherever you are, In English or Hebrew.
Brainspotting is a technique discovered and developed by Dr. David Grand while he was performing EMDR with clients. It is used to help people access, process, and overcome trauma and pain and is different from other approaches in that it allows the client to heal their own system. Brainspotting bypasses the “thinking” brain by finding spots in your visual field that help to process trauma lingering in the subcortical emotional and body-based parts of the brain. Although Brainspotting is relatively new, there are several promising research papers and case studies that have already come out supporting its efficacy.
